[ARCHIVED] A Deceased Person Found in a Fishers Retention Pond

Fishers, (Indiana) – Fishers police are investigating after a deceased person was found in a neighborhood retention pond.

On Wednesday, shortly before noon a contractor working in the Wintercove Neighborhood reported a deceased person floating in a retention pond near the intersection of Easy Street and Courtyard Way. Officers responded to the area and located the deceased. The Fishers Police Department Dive Team responded and recovered the deceased. The Hamilton County Coroner also responded and took possession of the deceased. 

Earlier today Fishers Police Detectives and Dive Team Members returned to the scene. Divers entered the pond and located a car fully submerged near where the deceased was recovered. Investigators have been able to confirm the car, recovered from the pond, belonged to the deceased. 

 There is no indication of foul play and no reason to believe this incident poses a threat to the community. Anyone with information regarding this incident should call Detective Tracy Jones at 317-595-3417.
