Fishers, (Indiana) Fishers police arrest a man for burglarizing a home in the Whispering Woods Neighborhood.
Shortly after 8:00pm on Friday September 25, 2020 Fishers police officers responded to a residential burglary alarm at a home in the 13100 block of Albion Court. Officers quickly arrived in the area and established a perimeter.
As officers were taking up positions near the exterior of the home, they observed a male dressed in dark clothing, exit the back door. Officers identified themselves and the male immediately sprinted away. A foot pursuit ensued as officers continued giving verbal commands for the suspect to stop. After jumping several fences and running thru multiple yards officers were able to apprehend the suspect, later identified as Andres Zapata. Mr. Zapata was taken into custody and transported to the Hamilton County Jail.
Officers were able to recover all the stolen personal property and return it to the homeowner. Neither the suspect or officers were injured during the foot pursuit and apprehension.
