STATEMENT FROM FISHERS CHIEF OF POLICE ED GEBHART


July 20, 2020

Fishers, (Indiana) – Yesterday a group of citizens participated in an organized demonstration on the grounds of the Fishers Nickel Plate Amphitheater. The demonstration included both protesters and counter protesters. A group of protesters were legally carrying firearms.

No individual or group from yesterday’s demonstration acted at the request of or on behalf of the Fishers Police Department or City of Fishers.  The role of our agency was to protect the constitutional rights of all the participants that attended yesterday and maintain the safety of the public.
