Fishers, (Indiana) – During the month of November the Fishers Police Department will be putting down their razors for No Shave November. This temporary program is being offered on a volunteer basis. Those officers wishing to participate will raise money that will be donated to The Cherish Center https://www.cherishcac.org/
Fishers Police Chief Ed Gebhart believes that raising awareness and engaging in conversation are effective ways of showing support to those battling cancer. Chief Gebhart stated, “We all have loved ones, friends, and co-workers that have been touched by cancer.” “As a police department, we are always seeking new ways to engage with the community and No Shave November will help us reach that goal”, Chief Gebhart continued.
Beginning November 1st when you see a Fishers police officer please know that the scruffiness is purposeful and temporary. Feel free to join us as we raise awareness for a great cause and reduce the stigmatism that is often associated with physical and mental health disease.
