The Fishers Summer Concert Series hosted by Fishers Parks & Recreation will return in June with a refreshed venue, new showtimes, and both local and national performing acts. The free concert series includes performances on Tuesday and Friday evenings, presented by IU Health Saxony, and Wednesday lunchtime concerts presented by Meyer Najem.
This will be the first concert season in the newly renovated Nickel Plate District Amphitheater, which reopened last fall after extensive renovations. New features include a larger stage, an improved sound system, and a gradual hill towards the back of the lawn to improve visibility for concert-goers. To ensure that concerts are inclusive for all attendees, sidewalks were widened for enhanced accessibility and additional accessible restrooms were added in a new 700-square-foot Pavilion located south of the Amphitheater. An accessible fountain located on the plaza outside of the Pavilion serves as a new community gathering spot.
The 2018 summer concert series attracted 150,000 attendees, and this year’s lineup includes a mixture of fresh acts and beloved favorites. New this year, Friday night showtimes have been changed from 9 p.m. to 8 p.m. based on feedback from concert attendees. Also new, Wednesday lunchtime concerts will alternate between adult and children’s performers.
Information on the full summer concert season lineup and other events happening in the Nickel Plate District can be found on the brand-new Nickel Plate District Amphitheater website. The site includes exclusive event information, artist videos, and more.
