[ARCHIVED] Police Arrest Driver in Connection with Fatal Crash in June

October 23, 2018


On October 17th The Hamilton County Circuit Court issued a Felony Arrest Warrant for Deborah Sundstrom. Sundstrom was charged with Operating While Intoxicated Causing Death (Level 5 Felony) and Operating While Intoxicated Endangering a Person (“A” Misdemeanor). Sundstrom has since turned herself into the Hamilton County Jail and posted bond.

Fishers, (Indiana) – Saturday morning Fishers police investigated a fatal crash involving a 2007 Buick SUV and a bicyclist.


Shortly before 10am The Hamilton County Communications Center began receiving calls regarding a serious crash on Brooks School Road near Broadmoor Drive. Fishers police arrived and began to investigate. The injured bicyclist was transported to Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis where he succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the Buick was not injured and cooperated with Investigators.


Based on evidence and statements from the driver and other witnesses it appears the bicyclist and the Buick were both traveling northbound on Brooks School Road. The driver of the Buick stated that she did not see the bicyclist in time to avoid the crash.


This crash continues to be an active investigation. Additional information may be provided as it becomes available.

A charge is merely an accusation and the arrested person(s) is presumed innocent until proven guilty
