One of the largest departments within the City of Fishers is opening their garage bays and inviting the community to step inside. On Wednesday, October 5th, Fishers’ Department of Public Works (DPW) invites residents of all ages to stop by their open house. Free to attend, the event takes place from 4 to 7 p.m., at their garage located at 10200 Eller Road and is a great opportunity for young scouts and residents to learn about the services they provide the community.
“Year-round, our staff assists with road repairs, snow plowing, parks maintenance and facility maintenance around Fishers,” stated Director Eric Pethtel. “The open house is a rewarding event as residents of all ages are able to learn more and thank the individuals working on the front lines, every day.”
During the open house, light refreshments will be served and each division of Fishers DPW will be represented. Children are encouraged to wear old clothes and enjoy paint-a-plow and live demonstrations from the asphalt truck. Young scouts are also encouraged to ask questions as they work towards earning a badge for attending the event.
Residents interested in learning more about Fishers DPW are encouraged to follow them on Twitter @FishersDPW and stay tuned to Think Fishers for ongoing news and updates.
