(Fishers, Indiana) – The Fishers Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that occurred shortly after 5:00pm, yesterday evening. The crash involved a single motorcycle and occurred near the intersection of Allisonville Road and Conner Creek Drive.
The driver of the motorcycle, James Moore, told officers that he was driving north on Allisonville Road when traffic stopped abruptly and he lost control of the motorcycle. James Moore and his wife, Lori Moore, were thrown from the motorcycle. Lori Moore suffered serious injuries and was transported to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. James Moore suffered minor injuries and was transported to the same hospital.
Preliminary information shows that the 2006 Honda motorcycle was traveling northbound on Allisonville Road. Traffic came to an abrupt stop causing the motorcycle to brake suddenly. The driver lost control of the motorcycle while attempting to avoid a collision with stopped traffic. The motorcycle did not make contact with any other vehicles. Both riders were not wearing helmets.
The Fishers Police Department’s Crash Team was called to the scene to investigate the crash. The intersection was closed for two hours while officers conducted their investigation. The crash remains under investigation.
