Google Trekker Stops in Fishers

Posted on July 29, 2016 at 3:43 PM by Blog Admin

This summer, Google Trekker has been making its way throughout Indiana, and last weekend our Fishers Parks & Recreation Department had a chance to strap the device on and hit Fishers’ trails! Unlike standard street view positioning, Google Trekker helps people visualize what spaces look like off the beaten path. With a total of 12 cameras, the device captures 12 panorama images in a matter of seconds, ensuring a complete view of the landscape that can be incorporated into Google maps and experienced by users around the world, virtually.

While in Fishers, Google Trekker explored Roy G. Holland Memorial Park, the Nickel Plate Trail, the Geist Trail loop, Flat Fork Creek Park, The Historic Ambassador House and Heritage Gardens, the Fall Creek Greenway, and the Saxony Hall/Lake and Beach area.
