Just this week, we announced the 2015 Summer Concert Series at the Nickel Plate District Amphitheater. Our Parks and Recreation Department is proud to offer free outdoor entertainment from June to August each year.
The summer concert series consists of two weekly series, Tuesday Night Concerts and AMP After Dark.
Tuesday Night Concerts sponsored by IU Health Saxony are fun for the whole family. Children run free while parents relax and enjoy picnic dinners and wine. Local cover bands play old classics and current hits. Local food trucks will be on site to offer snacks and sweet treats. Highlights of the Tuesday Night Concerts this season include My Yellow Rickashaw, Parrots of the Caribbean and Dave and Rae. All Tuesday Night Concerts begin at 7 p.m.

AMP After Dark sponsored by Century 21 Scheetz is a sweet prelude to the weekend. The shows begin at 9 p.m. just as the sets on summer nights. These Friday night concerts are perfect for date nights or gatherings with friends. Bring a blanket and relax under the stars. This year, at AMP After Dark only, you’ll get a chance to sample craft beer from a brewery opening in the Nickel Plate District in 2016, Four Day Ray Brewing. Highlights from the AMP After Dark Season include a special Flashback Friday Concert in partnership with WJJK featuring Eddie Money, The Woomblies Rock Orchestra, Jennie DeVoe and Carrie Newcomer.

Last year, more than 100,000 patrons visited the AMP throughout the season. We hope you’ll join us again or for the very first time this year. We’ve made it easier than ever for you to stay connected with the Nickel Plate District app. The app offers easy access to the full concert schedule as well as deals from local shops and restaurants. Enable push notifications to be notified of special concert promotions and weather-related event changes.
Why wait, go ahead and download the app and let your friends and family know you’ve got summer plans in the Nickel Plate District!
