Today, Mayor Fadness visited Junior Achievement of Central Indiana as Sand Creek Intermediate students participated in Biztown. As JA Biztown citizens, the students had the opportunity to put into action what they’ve learned in the classroom about entrepreneurship, work readiness and financial literacy.
The students stepped away from their businesses for a brief moment as Mayor Fadness shared what it takes to make a great city and how to be a great resident. Mayor Fadness encouraged the students to be active citizens who give back, volunteer and share their talents with their city.
After his talk, Mayor invited the students to ask questions.
The first student asked, “Is it tough being Mayor?” Mayor answered, “Some days it’s tough, but it’s the best job in the world.”

Another student asked, “What’s the hardest thing about being Mayor?” to which Mayor answered that developing a vision for a city and getting everyone on board is the hardest task.
As a city with a budding entrepreneurial culture and an understanding of the impact entrepreneurs have on local economies, we greatly value programs like Junior Achievement’s Biztown that foster and encourage entrepreneurship in students.
