Booster Update

COVID-19 bivalent vaccines are available for most individuals ages 6 months and older if it has been two months since their last dose.

Schedule COVID-19 vaccine appointments ahead at ourshot.in.gov. The Fishers Health Department Clinic offers all ACIP-approved COVID-19 vaccine options with the exception of Johnson and Johnson (out of stock).  All COVID-19 vaccines are free regardless of insurance status. Insurance information will be collected, but there is no co-pay required.

The Fishers Health Department has consolidated all services, including COVID-19 vaccination, at the Fishers Health Department Clinic at 8937 Technology Drive, Fishers.

  • Tuesday, Thursday: 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Saturdays: by appointment only

Construction Update

Entrance to the clinic is open during construction; however, people with limited mobility may find access difficult. If other options are needed, such as car-side vaccinations, arrangements can be made by calling our clinic at 317-537-0500.

What to Expect

Registration

To increase efficiency, please complete the registration information from the link in your confirmation email from the State of Indiana. If you are unable to complete the registration ahead of time, FHD registration staff will be happy to assist you. A parent or guardian must provide consent for minors 17 and under. Children under 16 must be accompanied to the vaccination appointment by an adult. 

Vaccinations & Boosters

The vaccination nurse will confirm your information, dosage, and discuss any questions or concerns you might have. Upon completing your first dose, you will be scheduled for your second dose (Pfizer and Moderna only). Watch a video walk-thru for children ahead of your visit. Vaccinations typically take 30 minutes or less.

Wait Period

Patients are asked to wait 15 minutes after receiving a vaccine or booster in case of any adverse reactions. Medical staff are available to assist any individual needing support.

Children's Vaccination Resources

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration authorized the use of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine for the prevention of COVID-19 to include children 6 months to 4 years of age via a 3-dose series. The vaccine formulation is a lower dose than previous formulations, at 3 micrograms of mRNA, compared to 30 for the adult dose.  The FDA has also authorized the use of the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine for children ages 6 months through 5 years via a 2-dose series. The dosage is 25 micrograms of mRNA compared to 100 for the adult dose and 50 for the adult booster. The authorization was based on the FDA’s thorough and transparent evaluation of the data that included input from independent advisory committee experts. At this time, the Pfizer vaccine is the only approved COVID-19 vaccine for ages 5 - 11 and is administered as a two-dose primary series, 3 weeks apart, but is a lower dose (10 micrograms) than that used for individuals 12 years of age and older (30 micrograms). A parent or guardian must provide consent and children under 16 must be accompanied to the vaccination appointment by an adult.

Children and parents can also watch a virtual reading of local Fishers author Daisy Ramani's children's book, Miss Violet Vaccine, where readers follow the main character, Zoey, who is anxious about getting a vaccination.
