12-Digit HUC Boundaries

The Town of Fishers drains into 9 12-digit Hydrologic Unit Code (HUC) watersheds. These include:

  1. Mallory Granger Ditch-White River Watershed
  2. Vestal Ditch-White River Watershed
  3. Carmel Creek-White River Watershed
  4. William Lehr Ditch-Stony Creek Watershed
  5. Sand Creek-Mud Creek Watershed
  6. Headwater Mud Creek Watershed
  7. Thorpe Creek-Geist Reservoir Watershed
  8. Flatfork Creek-Fall Creek Watershed
  9. McFadden Ditch-Lick Creek Watershed

These watersheds are much greater and drain land areas beyond the jurisdiction and authority of the Town of Fishers including the City of Carmel, City of Noblesville, Hamilton County, Madison County, and Hancock County. Effective stormwater management requires strong policies and procedures within the Town of Fishers and coordination and collaboration among neighboring entities.

This Master Plan describes the current condition of each watershed and summarizes the extent and severity of surface water quantity and quality concerns and makes recommendations for flooding and drainage improvements within the Town of Fishers and neighboring jurisdictions where applicable.
