The Town of Fishers recognizes that an essential component of developing a successful Stormwater Master Plan is to provide an opportunity for public participation. On April 8, 2009, from 6-8 pm the Town invited residents to an Open House. The meeting was well attended and participants became more familiar with the Master Plan process and were able to identify on large maps stormwater issues such as low-lying streets and public lands that regularly flood or where surface water has an unnatural color or odor. The meeting was published in the Indianapolis Star as an article (3/15/09) and as a Public Notice (3/12/09 and 4/2/09). Individuals unable to attend the Open House were able to submit water quantity or water quality concerns to the Department of Engineering and Public Works in person, phone, fax, or the Town of Fishers web page.
