Operations & Administration Manager
Position Type: Full-Time

Salary Range: $23.24 - $27.89 Hourly, $42,293.00 - $50,752.00 Annually

Location: Parks & Recreation Building, Fishers, Indiana

Position Description

Working in the Parks & Recreation Department this position is responsible for managing: capital improvement projects from start to finish; grant submissions and administration; and application and renewal of department and city certifications/award recognition. Position will also have involvement in contract administration, department accreditation process, bidding processes, and the Fishers Parks Foundation. Position will work closely with internal stakeholders including other Parks & Recreation staff, City Departments, Parks Advisory Committee, and Technical Advisory Committee. Position will also have interaction with external project stakeholders such as engineers, construction teams, legal staff, etc.

Examples of Duties

  • Communicates project objectives to necessary internal staff and external stakeholders
  • Tracks project milestones and drives others to meet deadlines
  • Identifies and solves problems throughout the project life cycle
  • Works with all team members to ensure quality deliverables and results
  • Coordinates and attends various commission, council and citizen meetings
  • Gathers information from meetings, analyzes feasibility of proposed timelines and requirements, and makes recommendations
  • Assist in the development and implementation of short and long-range Parks & Recreation projects

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors Degree; 1 to 3 years related work experience; General knowledge of local government and parks & recreation operations; Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software; Ability to work independently; Strong interpersonal and communication skills; Ability to handle multiple projects at once; Excellent time management skills; Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; Experience working with contracts, request for proposals (RFP) and grant applications preferred.
