March Disability Awareness

March has been designated as National Disability Awareness Month. The Fishers ADA/Disability Roundtable and the City of Fishers values its citizens with physical and intellectual disabilities. We have worked together to organize a month-long campaign to bring awareness about disabilities and to educate the community about inclusion. 

This year’s 2017 March Disability Awareness Month theme emphasizes that people with disabilities are people first. They are co-workers, classmates and neighbors who want to be included in their communities – just like everyone else.

Kick-off of Fishers 2017 March Disability Awareness Month
Features Mayor's Proclamation, Artist Winner Announced & Etiquette Presentation by the Joseph Maley Foundation on "Power of Words: People First Language-201"
