Rules and regulations:
1. Construction of sled
  • Your sled must pass inspection in order to be allowed on the hill.
  • Your sled must be free of sharp edges, pointy objects, or any other feature that may be considered dangerous by the inspectors. If you are unable to remove such objects from your sled, you will not be allowed to race.

2. Sled materials
  • You may use one plastic store bought sled in the construction of your sled.
  • Other than your one plastic sled (if you choose to use it), you may use corrugated cardboard. 
  • You may NOT use non-corrugated cardboard, cardboard that is bonded to other materials; epoxy reinforced cardboard; or any other cardboards that raise concern. If there is any doubt, don’t use it.
  • You may use tape and glues to hold your sled together. 
  • You may NOT use: tar-based substances; epoxy glue; fiberglass resin; two-part varnishes or any other two-part substances; or glues that harden into solids that may be deemed dangerous or may potentially leave hazardous debris on the hill.
  • You may NOT use: screws of any sort of material; mechanical fasteners; nails; staples, or any other means of holding your sled together that may be deemed dangerous or may potentially leave hazardous debris on the hill. 
  • Only seems and joints may be taped, not the whole sled. 
  • Sleds may NOT be wrapped in plastic, tape, shrink wrap, or anything else.
  • You must be able to stop your sled. Keep this feature in mind when designing and building.

3. None of the following are permitted
  • Air horns
  • Heat producing elements
  • Projecting items into crowd
  • Liquids/ chemicals
  • Fire

Day of details:
  • Participants must pre-register for the event on the Fishers Parks and Recreation website by December 22, 2016. 
  • When the day of the event is called to begin, participants will check in at Flat Fork Park at a designated time. Times for check-in and races will be posted on the Fishers Parks & Recreation Facebook page
  • Alcohol is permitted during this event, but participants cannot consume alcohol until after their run is completed.
  • Winners will be presented with prizes at the end of the event. 

Tailgating rules:
  • Participants may tailgate with food and beverages in the parking lot. Beverages cannot be in glass containers. 
  • Alcohol is only allowed in the parking lot--- not on the sledding hill. 
  • Unruly behavior will not be tolerated, and those displaying unruly behavior will be asked to leave or escorted off the property. 
  • Trailers, large grills, or other vehicle attachments are not permitted.
  • Participants may use 10’ by 10’ tents.
  • All dogs must be supervised and on a leash. 
  • Small grills are allowed, but not charcoal grills.
  • Keep our park more beautiful than when you arrived. Be sure to clean up all your trash.
