Salary Range: $20.07 - $24.09 Hourly/$36,533.00 - $43,840.00 Annually

Position Description
The City of Fishers Parks & Recreation Department is known for putting on some of the most unique and fun programs and events in the area, facilitating over 300 different recreational programs, classes and special events annually! In 2016 alone, over 150,000 people participated in events that included concerts, sports leagues, holiday celebrations and everything in between. And don't forget summer camps which provide education, recreation, arts and crafts and games for over 900 children each summer! The Recreation Program Coordinator is part of the team responsible for developing and implementing recreation activities, summer camp, and special events as well as overseeing and administering the day to day operations of the Recreation Division.

Examples of Duties
  • Plan, coordinate and lead recreation activities and special events.
  • Oversee and administer the summer camp program.
  • Provide customer service, including program registration, facility rentals and general inquiries by telephone and in person.
  • Supervise seasonal program staff and volunteers.
  • Assist other staff in the following areas: marketing, budgeting, sponsorships, program development, seasonal staff recruitment and training.
  • Perform administrative duties, including monitoring program budgets, purchasing and equipment inventory, tracking program participation and facility rentals, completing a daily deposit for cash receipts, preparing and submitting the monthly financial report.
  • Oversee and administer the day to day operation of the Recreation Office.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Parks and Recreation or related field and 2-4 years experience in program development or recreation management; Valid driver's license; Working knowledge of office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Adobe, etc); Working knowledge of RecTrac software preferred; Strong customer service skills; Ability to communicate with a variety of people, verbally and in writing; Ability to work under sometimes stressful and/or difficult situations; Ability to work on multiple projects at one time; Ability to work evenings and weekends.
