Gateway and Wayfinding Plan
gateway signageThe Fishers Gateway and Wayfinding Plan was developed by Fishers Community Development staff in collaboration with the Fishers council, the Geist Improvement Fund Board, and the public.

Staff worked with Rundell Ernstberger and RLR on the design of the gateways and to determine potential locations. Staff worked with RLR on the wayfinding signage portion. REA then pulled that together into one comprehensive document.

The plan is the culmination of over a year of work on two key branding initiatives – gateways and wayfinding signage. It combines these two into one strategic document for implementation over time.

The Plan includes three components:
  • Profiles the design templates for future gateways and wayfinding signage.
  • Identifies where these branding elements should be located.
  • Establishes criteria for determining future priorities.

Investments in gateways will foster civic pride, establish a distinct identity and promote greater awareness of what Fishers has to offer.

The gateways will include key entryways into Fishers as well as entry points into unique districts within the community such as Geist and the Nickel Plate.

Wayfinding will make getting around Fishers easier to navigate providing directions to motorists, pedestrians and cyclists.
