Rescue Task Force
What most customers do not realize is that not all fire departments have trained personnel or specialized equipment to provide special rescue services. We are fortunate the Fishers Fire Department provides these services. Special rescue services include Rope, Confined Space, Trench Collapse, and Structural Collapse Rescue.

There are only 8 trained and equipped special rescue teams in the state of Indiana, with the closest special rescue team to Fishers 40 minutes away. Delivering these services requires 20 to 30 highly trained personnel and specialized equipment, making around the clock service delivery extremely difficult for one department.

In order to provide these services effectively and responsibly, the Fishers Fire Department has partnered with other fire departments in Hamilton County forming one rescue team known as the Hamilton County Technical Rescue Team (HCTRT).

Partnering allows municipalities to share personnel and equipment assets which results in fiscal responsibility without duplication of resources for training and response.

Team Partnerships
Providing and maintaining special rescue service training and response encompasses resources not normally carried by a fire department. Fishers Departments of Public Works, Waste Water Treatment, and Development provide equipment, facilities, and industry knowledge to help support rescue services. Examples of this help include sites and props for training, back-hoes, vacuum trucks, compressors, and engineers.

Community Partnerships
Local industry leaders have reached out to the Fishers Rescue Task Force by providing donations, training props, sites, and equipment to help maintain a high level of preparedness. Partnerships with Builders Concrete, Bowen Engineering, Sunbelt Rentals, and Irving Materials are long standing.
