Drive Fishers
Drive Fishers is the City of Fishers’ initiative to increase travel efficiency, improve connectivity and maintain the sanitary sewer and water infrastructure via innovative projects and a proactive approach to construction and maintenance.

Since 2012, Drive Fishers has completed traffic calming projects, sanitary and storm sewer projects, 33 resurfaced lane miles, 8 miles of trails and sidewalks, and received more than $60 million in grants, improving the infrastructure in Fishers while leveraging federal dollars to save money for the Fishers’ taxpayers.

Transparency is very important to us during the project selection, design and construction phases. You are encouraged to submit infrastructure needs, sign up for weekly road construction updates, and check this site often.

2015 Accomplishments

Throughout 2015, various projects were completed in an effort to increase pedestrian and motorist accessibility, safety, and overall connectivity throughout Fishers. Working together, the Engineering Department and the Department of Public Works 2015 successes include 4.2 miles of resurfaced and/or rehabilitated roadways, the installation of 1.5 miles of multipurpose paths.

Highlights from this year’s construction season include:
  • An upgrade to Lantern Road between Commercial Drive and 116th Street providing additional parking and ensuring improved access to small businesses and the Nickel Plate District.
  • An upgrade to the intersection of Lantern Road and Commercial Drive including improvements to the railroad crossing.
  • Improvements to crosswalks and the railroad crossing at 116th Street to allow for improved pedestrian safety.
  • Completion of the Cheeney Creek Trail from 106th Street to Cheeney Creek Natural Area to allow for outdoor recreation and improved connectivity in the area.
  • Installation of a guardrail along Brooks School Road to improve pedestrian safety in the area.
