Department Operations
The largest division within the Fishers Fire Department is the Operations Division. It is responsible for emergency medical services, fire suppression, mitigation of disasters, and rescue activities.

Highly specialized units within this division include the Hazardous Materials Response Team, Dive Rescue Team, and Technical Rescue Team.

The Operations Division is comprised of three shifts, or battalions. Each shift is led by a battalion chief who oversees approximately 38 firefighters for each 24-hour shift rotation. battalion chiefs manage all emergency and administrative activities of shift personnel.

Community Services
Your firefighters do much more than just fight fires. They provide a wide variety of services within our community such as:
  • Emergency medical services, including advanced life support
  • Perform non-emergency calls for service
  • Fire prevention and investigation
  • Fire suppression and rescue services
  • Urban search and rescue
  • Water rescue and recovery
  • Confined space and technical rescue
  • Public education
