Hometown Help for Heroes
On Nov. 5, 2015, the Fishers Department of Public Works (DPW) announced the roll-out of the Hometown Help for Heroes program to eligible Fishers families. The Hometown Help for Heroes initiative was developed to marshal the community's public and private resources in order to alleviate some of the practical burdens that families of a deployed heads of household will face. 

The Fishers DPW will manage the application process and administer the program. All families that meet the requirements are encouraged to apply for the program.

Services provided:

  • Driveway and sidewalk snow removal within 24 hours after the completion of a sustained snow event for any amount more than two inches
  • Lawn mowing and trimming services on an as needed basis during summer months

Program eligibility:

  • Any family who can demonstrate that at least one of the heads of household are currently deployed in a branch of our country's armed forces
  • The household must live in Fishers
  • The household is eligible for the duration of the deployment
