The Fishers Fire Department takes a proactive approach to Fire Safety through Fire Prevention and Investigation using various methods.
Helping our community learn to prevent fires and injuries through Public Education and Information.
All businesses in the protection area of the Fishers Fire Department are inspected by our Life Safety Division. These inspections help business operators reduce the risk of fire and loss of life in their buildings, and help ensure the safety of their visitors.
The Fishers Fire Marshal also reviews new building plans to check for compliance with fire codes and local requirements.
The Life Safety Division oversees fire investigations in our protection area. All fires are investigated for a cause. The Fire Marshal and Deputy Fire Marshal are members of the Hamilton county Fire Investigator's Task Force. The task force combines the resources of fire, law enforcement, and federal agencies, and assists local fire departments with arson and other difficult fire cases.
To ensure the highest caliber of people to protect the residents of Fishers, the Fire Marshal also conducts background checks on all prospective members of the Fishers Fire Department.
