Explorer Post 91
The Fishers Fire Department offers young men and women a chance to explore a career in the fire service through the Fishers Fire Department Explorer Program.
Requirements
The program is open to young adults who are age 15-20, or who are 14 and have completed the 8th grade, and who do not have a criminal background and maintain a 2.0 GPA in high school and college.
Our Explorers meet once a week to conduct business and train.
Currently, Explorers are recruited through our Teen Fire Academy in the summer. Academy attendees receive a week of basic training, after which they can continue their training through the Explorer program. Explorers who complete their mandatory minimum trainings become eligible for ride-alongs with shift firefighters.
