Sworn personnel will receive the equivalent number of days in their Paid Time Off (PTO) bank.
Any employee who works for the Election Board on either Primary Election Day or National Election Day, will receive an additional PTO day for each day worked as well as being paid as aholidayfor either day. In other words, if an employee who normally works 7 hour days, works the Primary or National Election Day, they would receive the day off with pay, an additional 7 hours of PTO time to use later, and whatever pay they would receive for working the polls. Please see the Town Personnel Manual for more details.
Paid Time Off
Full-time employees earn 1.5 PTO days per month.
Sick Leave
Employees have available to them an unlimited amount of sick time to be used for their personal illness or injury in lieu of short-term disability. Usage is tracked via an occasion system in order to prevent abuse.
