131st. St. and St. Rd. 37 Project 20% Complete

Current Status: Final Design Complete

Project Location: The project will take place on 131^st Street on the west side of State Road 37.

Project Scope: The eastbound lanes on 131^st Street will be reconfigured to include an additional left turn lane onto S.R. 37 and an additional through lane. The median curb on 131^st Street will be narrowed to make room for the left-turn lane and the road will be widened to the south to accommodate the additional through lane.

Reason for Project: Improvement is needed to improve the capacity of the intersection.

Funding: The Design and Construction costs will be locally funded.

Update: 5-11-12 The asphalt for the new right turn lane is going in this week and is scheduled to be open to traffic next week. The contractor will then begin removing the existing median to add an additional left turn lane onto SR37.
