Contractor Registration
In February 2010, the Fishers Town Council adopted an ordinance requiring contractors to be registered in order to work within the Town. The contractor registration was enacted in part because of problems some homeowners encountered with the June 2009 hail storm. The intent is to require any permit holder (except a homeowner who is performing the work themselves) to be a registered contractor. The Town requires insurance information, along with name, address and other contact information, for all contractors. This information is invaluable for residents, as they can now see who is a registered contractor and can verify that the contractor they may have selected has been registered with the Town.
The ordinance can be viewed here. To view contractors who are registered with the town, click here. If you are a contractor who wants to register, click here.
By enacting this ordinance, the Town of Fishers does not in any manner insure or warrant the competency of the contractors registered or the quality of the work performed by the contractors registered. No representations should be made explicitly by registered contractors to the effect that registration is a representation by the Town of their competency or the quality of their work, nor should any property owner believe by inference that registration is an endorsement by the Town of the competency or quality of the work.
