Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D. A. R. E.)
The Fishers Police Department DARE Program started with Hamilton Southeastern Schools in 1991. The curriculum is taught at the fifth grade level and at the seventh grade level. The department is also looking into the high school curriculum so that the students will be exposed to the message the DARE program teaches three times before graduation from high school. If you want more information about the DARE program, please contact the Fishers Police Department at 317-595-3300.
In the photo above, Lt. Mike Johnson, or O.J. as his students call him, explains what Status Offenses are, and provides definitions to common terms used in the law enforcement field.
