Welcome to the Town of Fishers Fire Department website. We are extremely proud of our community and the men and women who provide outstanding emergency services. We invite you to visit any of our five fire stations where you will receive a warm welcome and understand how blessed we are to serve.
The Fishers Fire Department began the transition to a full-career department in 1989. In that time, we have progressed from an all-volunteer department to having more than 120 career fire fighters/paramedics. We provide service to more than 50-plus square miles of single and multiple-family dwellings as well as clean industrial and high-end technology parks.
The Fishers Fire Department has the distinction of being the one of the first nationally accredited Fire Departments in the state of Indiana. Our firefighters do much more than just fight fires. They provide a wide variety of services within our community including but not limited to:

Emergency medical services.

Department Paramedics provide advanced life support medical care.

Perform non-emergency service calls such as assisting with flooded buildings and homes.

Provide stand-by emergency and medical support at large public events such as concerts and community events.

Assist the Fishers Police Department with tactical emergency medical service.

Provide water rescue, urban search and rescue, and hazardous materials team response.

Actively participate and/or sponsor a variety of community events, organizations and fundraisers.

Work within the community to educate and raise general awareness in issues of life safety.

Provide "walk-in" blood pressure screening at neighborhood fire stations

Give free fire station tours upon request.

Accreditation:
The Fishers Fire Department is one of only two fire departments accredited in the State of Indiana by the Commission on Fire Accreditation International and one of more than 143 departments accredited internationally.
The accreditation process is rigorous. In addition to a major self-assessment of all activities the department participates in, it also underwent a four-day peer assessment that compared our capabilities with other departments throughout the world.
The Fishers Fire Department has been successfully accredited in 2004 and 2009.
In December 2009, the Fishers Fire Department's Emergency Medical Services were also accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS), one more confirmation that best practices are being followed.
