City Government Academy
The City of Fishers’ award-winning City Government Academy (CGA) offers residents an exclusive, behind-the-scenes exploration of local government. At the end of the ten-week course, students will have a greater understanding of how Fishers government works for its residents.

CGA meets weekly during the evening and locations vary. Check out the 2017 Fall Schedule, and submit your application today. Special accommodations, such as ASL interpreters, can be made if needed. CGA Alumni Group
For graduates of City Government Academy, the CGA Alumni Group continues involvement in city activities and happenings through roundtables with city officials. Members are also encouraged to get involved in department and city-wide events.

Fishers Police Department Citizen's AcademyFishers Police Department Citizen's Academy
The academy is an opportunity for the community to participate in police-style training through a 12 week course. Community members learn first-hand how the Fishers Police Department works. Training topics include criminal law, crime prevention, the K9 program, defensive tactics, and narcotics training. The academy includes demonstrations and training as well as classroom instruction. Submit an application today.

Citizen's Police Academy Alumni Group
The Alumni Group are graduates of the Citizen's Police Academy who provide volunteer support for the Fishers Police Department. They also organize social functions. 

Join us every Thursday in October from 3 to 10 p.m. at BoomBozz Craft Pizza & Taphouse - Fishers to raise funds for the Fishers Police Department Citizen’s Academy Alumni Association. Present this flyer and BoomBozz will donate 15% of your total check to the organization.

Fishers Police Department Explorer Academy
Open to young adults 14 to 20 years old. The program exposes participants to the Police Department and helps those interested in law enforcement careers to make an informed decision. Programs offered include crime scene investigation, traffic stops, use of police dogs, SWAT, computer crimes and more. All meetings are open to new members. Citizen's Fire AcademyCitizen's Fire Academy
The Fishers Fire Department Citizen's Academy is a free program designed to increase understanding of fire and emergency medical operations and to promote citizen interaction with the Fishers Fire Department Personnel. The program is designed to enhance awareness of the department's capabilities; develop realistic expectations of response times from the point of dispatch; and to develop a cooperative relationship between firefighters and the citizens of Fishers.

The 8-week course, consisting of one night a week, three hours each evening, will provide participants with an overview of the major divisions within the department as well as a general overview of fire and emergency medical services. Students will participate in the classroom setting as well as the training grounds, visit fire stations, and the 911 Center. Participants will also experience firsthand what fire and EMS personnel do during a tour of duty.

Requirements
  • Participants are required to be 16 or older and either a Fishers’ resident or the owner / operator of a business located in Fishers.
  • Interested individuals may complete an online application.
