The Spring 2018 session of the award winning Fishers City Government Academy (CGA) will begin on Tuesday, February 13 at 6 p.m. in the City Hall Auditorium, located at 1 Municipal Drive. The academy is free and open to Fishers residents who are 18 and older. CGA allows residents of Fishers to examine the inner workings of city government by allowing students to hear from staff, tour city facilities, and engage in the collaborative city governing process. At the end of the course, students will have a greater understanding of how Fishers government works. CGA mostly meets weekly from 6 to 8 p.m. on varying evenings and runs for 10 weeks. Class locations vary, with several evenings meeting at off-site locations such as the city's Public Works garage and Police and Fire Departments. To enroll in the academy, please fill out the following application.
Special accommodations, such as ASL interpreters, can be made if needed. To arrange any necessary accommodations, please contact Dan Domsic at least two business days prior to the first meeting. Dan can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at (317) 595-3151.
Please list some specific interests you have regarding city government.
Residents may participate in one session of the City Government Academy once every three years. Those that do not complete the program are welcome back to complete individual classes in subsequent sessions. Graduates are encouraged to be a part of the Fishers Government Academy Association.
