Fishers Police Make Arrest in HSE School Threat Case

(Fishers, Indiana) – Last evening the Fishers Police Department launched an investigation into a potential act of violence against Hamilton Southeastern Schools. The message alluding to a violent act was posted during a “live” social media event at Hamilton Southeastern High School.
Fishers police investigators and Hamilton Southeastern School officials worked diligently thru the night and determined the threat was not credible, but most likely a hoax. Investigators continued their work throughout the day to identify the person responsible for the hoax. Early this afternoon, investigators located and arrested a Lawrence Central High School student. The juvenile was taken into custody and transported to the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center without incident.
Fishers Chief of Police Mitch Thompson would like to thank the students and staff that initially called police to report the disturbing message. “The safety of our kids is our number one priority”, stated Chief Thompson. “We are very fortunate to have strong working relationships with school officials, students, and the community”, continued Thompson.
