Mayor Fadness and team strive to create a smart, vibrant, and entrepreneurial community that balances meaningful work with a high quality of life. This March, Fishers will spearhead the third Disability Awareness Month campaign, inviting residents of all ages and ability levels to share their stories and unite behind our differences.

“In Fishers, we’re constantly working to be better tomorrow than we are today,” stated Mayor Scott Fadness. “Disability Awareness Month provides a glimpse into life with disabilities, offering opportunities for residents to gain understanding, compassion, and inclusivity.”

Spearheaded by Fishers Advisory Committee on Disability, the month includes a variety of events geared towards different audiences. Some of the featured events include:

“Disabilities affect many aspects of an individual’s life, from education into employment and quality of life,” explained Fishers Advisory Committee on Disability Chair and City Councilwoman Cecilia Coble. “This month invites business owners, teachers, artists, athletes, and the community at large to unique events that allow us all to take a glimpse into lives of those affected by disability.”
